Moving your Contacts from Workspace to email.practicepanda.com

Bring your contacts over from our old email host workspace/secureserver.net to new email.practicepanda.com

For our users that are a part of the migration from our old email service to the new one, whether or not you signed up for the automatic migration, you should have noticed that migrating Contacts from the Workspace email service is not a part of the migration.

This is a technical limitation due to email protocols, where Contacts are not structured the same as the rest of the folders and emails that make up the mailbox.

Lucky for us, there is a work around: You can create and export a .csv file (a spreadsheet) from the Workspace Contacts and then import them into the new Webmail in a few steps.

Step 1:

Log into the old email account in webmail at email.secureserver.net. You can find Contacts in webmail like so:

Step 2 & 3:

In Contacts you can Export using the link in the upper right.

Step 4:

You should have a .csv document like this in your default Downloads folder (this screenshot is from a Macbook, it will look different in Windows but it should still be in your normal Downloads folder or where you choose to place it)

Step 5 & 6:

Now you can login to webmail at email.practicepanda.com and go to Contacts then Import there:

Step 7:

Once you click Import, you can then Browse to the .csv file you created earlier and hit Import.

Step 8:

Make sure these fields make sense to you. After testing I did have to change the first field from E-mail Address in the dropdown to just Email. Then click Import:

You should get a screen like this after waiting for a while, depending on how many contacts you are importing:

Step 10:

Double-check that everything makes sense here, and you should be all set!
