How to Backup / Export Your Workspace Email

Learn how to export all your webmail emails to your local storage device

NOTE:

These instructions are for backing up your workspace webmail in 3rd-party email applications.

There is no method to export email data directly from Workspace Webmail. You MUST connect your webmail email via IMAP to a 3rd-party application in order to export your email data.

Once your webmail account is connected to our 3rd-party email app, you can return to this guide to learn how you can backup / export your email data.

Before proceeding with this guide, make sure you have connected your email to a 3rd-party email client capable of exporting your emails.

IMPORTANT:

Practice Panda does not provide support for 3rd-party applications or services, these instructions are provided as-is.

GoDaddy Workspace Webmail servers (where your email is hosted at) are being purged of all data and are being completely shutdown at the end of the month.

Practice Panda is unable to retrieve any data on GoDaddy webmail servers, especially after they have been shutdown.

Backup using Thunderbird (free)

1. If you haven't already connected your Webmail account to the free Thunderbird desktop email application, click the button below:

2. To backup your Workspace emails using the free Thunderbird email desktop application, click the button below:

!!! IMPORTANT !!! THIS IS A CRITICAL NOTICE!

After you connect your Workspace Webmail account to a 3rd-party email application, the email data that is located in the Workspace webmail servers will need time to fully download / sync all your data to your local 3rd party email client application.

IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT YOU WAIT FOR ALL YOUR EMAIL DATA TO FINISH SYNCING / FULLY DOWNLOAD TO THE 3RD-PARTY EMAIL CLIENT YOU CONNECTED YOUR WEBMAIL ACCOUNT TO BEFORE PROCEEDING WITH EXPORTING YOUR EMAIL DATA.

Backup using Outlook for Windows

1. If you haven't already connected your Webmail account to the Outlook for windows desktop application, click the button below:

2. To backup your Workspace emails using the Outlook for Windows email desktop application, please follow the steps below:

NOTE:

Outlook for Windows is licensed software. If you don't have a standalone license or 365 subscription that contains the Outlook desktop application download, you won't be able to use the steps for this specific application.

For a free alternative, we suggest you use Mozilla Thunderbird if you don't have a license for Outlook for windows.

The steps below will show you how you can save / export your email messages and folders to your local storage device using Outlook for Windows.

i. Open the Outlook windows desktop application, then Select File > Open & Export > Import/Export.

ii. Select Export to a file, and then select Next.

iii. Select Outlook Data File (.pst), and select Next.

iv. To export the entire mailbox, select / highlight the name of the email account and make sure the Include subfolders checkbox is selected to export all your folders, then continue to the next step.

IMPORTANT:

Make sure the Include subfolders checkbox is selected (as shown above), then select Next.

THIS IS A CRITICAL STEP! If the Include subfolders checkbox is not selected, all your email folders won't be exported!

v. Choose a location on your computer or local storage device and enter a name for your email backup file, and then select Finish.

Backup using Outlook for Mac

1. If you haven't already connected your Webmail account to the Outlook desktop application for Mac, click the button below:

2. To backup your Workspace emails using the free Outlook for Mac email desktop application, please follow the steps below:

i. Open the Outlook app on your Mac.

NOTE:

If you're in the new version of Outlook, revert to the legacy version of Outlook. Select Outlook, and then New Outlook. You might have to confirm that you want to revert.

ii. Select File, and then Export. The Export to Archive File (.olm) window will open.

  • If you don't see Export, look for it on the Tools menu.

iii. Choose what you would like to export. By default, Items of these types has all items selected.

iv. Select Continue. Your Mac's Finder will open.

v. Choose where on your computer you'd like to save the file and give the file a name, and then select Save. Your email items will be exported.

vi. Select Finish.

Backup using Apple Mail

1. If you haven't already connected your Webmail account to the native Apple mail app, click the button below:

After you connect your Workspace Webmail account to a 3rd-party email application, the email data that is located in the Workspace webmail servers will need time to fully download / sync all your data to your local 3rd party email client application.

Can Practice Panda migrate my email data for me?

You can choose to migrate your past email messages yourself by backing up your email messages and contacts, and import them into your new account.
